Text Box: The Douglas County Conservation District rents out this Truax No-Till Seed Drill to landowners in Douglas County/Western Elbert County Features: Þ Double disc furrow openers and depth bands optimize seed placement and seed to soil contact. Þ Multiple seed boxes give you the flexibility to seed native fluffy seeds, cool season species, small grains, legumes, and wildflowers. Þ Planting can be accomplished as no-till and inter-seeding in most conditions, from hard pastures and roadsides to crop residue and cover crops. Truax drills are designed to plant grasses and legumes on a variety of site conditions  

Text Box:  The cost of rental is $150.00 base fee for 5 acres or less plus $10.00 per acre up to 20 acres.  Over 20 acres, it will be $5.00 per acre.  A  $250.00 refundable deposit will be held until the drill is returned in the condition it was rented in.         Minimum of a 3/4 ton PU truck (towing) and 40 HP tractor (seeding).   Call the Douglas County Conservation District at 303-688-3042 ext. 100  for drill rental and to purchase grass seed.   The best time to plant seed is November 1st through May 1st  DVD Instructions for the Truax Drill available at the office.
